Desmopressin 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin, DDAVP ; is a synthetic analog of the antidiuretic hormone vasopressin. Desmipressin has also been used prophylactically in patients undergoing surgical operations characterized by large blood loss and transfusion requirements. Some of these indications have been strengthened by the experience accumulated; others have not been supported by rigorous clinical trials or have been superceded by the advent of more and
decadron.
These are characterised by chronic daily headaches with intermittent migrainous headaches. Management includes combined psychological and pharmacotherapy similar to chronic non-progressive headaches. Finally, many children will have brief non-specific headaches, which do not fit into any particular category. Her hemoglobin was 11 gm dl, total leucocytes count was 5100 cumm, differential count was P45, L42, E6, M7, erythrocyte sedimentation rate was 22 mm in first hour, liver function tests were normal, angiotensin converting enzyme levels was 36.90 u l. Pre surgical hormonal profile revealed basal cortisol level and divalproex.
In some patients with asymptomatic hyponatraemia, the main risk of complications emanates not from the disorder itself, but from its correction phase.
